Sagri Launches New Feature “Carbon Plan AI” to Decarbonization Digital Product “SagriVision”

(Headquarters: Tanba City, Hyogo; CEO: Shunsuke Tsuboi; hereinafter “Sagri”) announces the addition of a new feature, “Carbon Plan AI,” to its decarbonization calculation digital product “SagriVision,” which supports carbon traceability of farmland. This new feature is based on a scientifically validated soil carbon dynamics model and supports scenario-based analysis of soil carbon changes.
“Carbon Plan AI” simulates changes in soil organic carbon (SOC) stocks, greenhouse gas emission reductions, and carbon credit generation potential based on farming scenarios such as the introduction of cover crops, crop residue management, fertilizer/organic input applications, and reduced tillage intensity. It supports decision-making for regenerative agriculture and carbon projects.

Soil carbon-based carbon credits are gaining global attention as a nature-based climate solution. However, project development under methodologies such as VCS VM0042 requires advanced expertise, making it difficult to estimate credit generation potential before investment decisions. Carbon Plan AI was developed as a feasibility assessment tool to address this challenge.

1. SOC Projection Based on Regenerative Agriculture Scenarios
Carbon Plan AI predicts future changes in soil organic carbon (SOC) stocks based on regenerative practices such as cover cropping, residue management, and compost application, and reduced tillage intensity. It utilizes the soil carbon dynamics model “RothC” to simulate the impact of management changes on soil carbon.
2. Automated Estimation of Carbon Credit Potential
By comparing baseline (current practices) and improved scenarios, the system automatically estimates carbon credit generation potential. This enables stakeholders to evaluate expected carbon value before project implementation, supporting more rational investment decisions.
