Sagri Signs MOU with Continental Farmers Group, a Leading Ukrainian Agricultural Company
― Leveraging satellite data and the digital MRV platform ‘SagriVision’ to advance soil carbon projects and carbon credit generation ―
Sagri Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tamba City, Hyogo, Japan; CEO: Shunsuke Tsuboi; “Sagri”), a Japan-based agri-tech company leveraging satellite data and AI, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Continental Farmers Group LLC (“CFG”), a leading agricultural company managing approximately 190,000 hectares of farmland in western Ukraine, to establish a strategic partnership aimed at promoting soil carbon projects and carbon credit generation in Ukraine while advancing decarbonized agriculture and sustainable agricultural production.
Through this partnership, the two companies will jointly leverage Sagri’s digital MRV platform, “SagriVision,” to visualize soil organic carbon, integrate farmland data, and develop projects for future carbon credit generation.
■ Background
Ukraine is one of the world’s major grain-producing regions, and the recovery and sustainable development of its agricultural sector are of critical importance from the perspectives of global food security and climate action.
In recent years, soil carbon sequestration through regenerative agriculture has gained international attention as an effective approach to simultaneously mitigate climate change and improve agricultural productivity. At the same time, the generation of carbon credits requires a transparent and reliable Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) framework. In particular, large-scale agricultural operations require an efficient and consistent way to manage soil carbon stocks and farm management data across numerous geographically dispersed fields, making scalable MRV systems based on satellite data and digital technologies increasingly essential.
Against this backdrop, Sagri and CFG have entered into this MOU based on the shared vision that leveraging satellite data and digital MRV technologies can accelerate the implementation of soil carbon projects across Ukraine’s vast agricultural lands and contribute to the sustainable recovery of the country’s agricultural sector.

- Soil Carbon Projects and Carbon Credit Generation
The parties will jointly promote soil carbon projects utilizing CFG’s farmland data and farm management information with a view toward carbon credit generation under international frameworks such as the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) and the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).
- Development of a Digital MRV Platform Using SagriVision
By combining satellite data, Digital Soil Mapping (DSM), and process-based models through “SagriVision,” the parties will establish a digital MRV platform capable of efficiently managing soil carbon stocks and agricultural management information while ensuring high transparency and traceability across large-scale farmland.

- Promotion of Pilot Projects and Commercialization
The parties will jointly implement pilot projects, collaborate with relevant stakeholders, and pursue commercialization opportunities to support sustainable agriculture and the growth of the carbon market in Ukraine.

Through this collaboration, Sagri will promote the social implementation of “SagriVision” as a digital MRV platform and work toward realizing large-scale soil carbon projects in Ukraine.
